How To Plug Your Energy Drain

Energy

Believe it or not, the number one reason for medical doctor visits is fatigue. When the body lacks resources, lacks sleep, lacks the synchronization of its own rhythms, the first thing to go is your energy levels. Energy – how you feel when you wake up and how you feel throughout the day is going to be your number one indicator as to how well your body is running.  The number one thing that you can do to make sure that you are energized is to make sure you’re getting enough sleep. Sounds simple and goes without saying. That time window from 10:30 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. is that time in which your body repairs itself. The shorter that window of rest you give yourself, the less time your body has to rebuild itself.

Secondly, you want to make sure that you’re eating in a way that stabilizes your blood sugar. If you are constantly relying on stimulants, sugar and fake foods you’re going to be giving yourself temporary energy boosts which will then be followed by permanent energy crashes. What you should be doing is putting more whole foods into your diet.  Make sure you’re eating adequate amounts of proteins, carbohydrates and fats. Sufficient sleep and macronutrients ratios and you’re half way home to solving your own energy crisis. If are having trouble determining which foods are right for you, I would definitely look into getting additional coaching through the Physical Excellence.

Get control over your wrinkles

fightwrinkles Strong and supple collagen tissue is the key to having healthy and youthful looking skin. Collagen health is largely dependent on proper hydration, therefore if you are not drinking enough water (not tea or or any other flavored fluid) you are starving your skin. Secondary to staying hydrated is to manage cortisol levels. In times of stress the body produces large amount of cortisol, which drives the body’s metabolic process into what is called gluconeogenesis. In plain English, this is when your body uses protein for energy. This protein can some from ANY protein source in the body. Skeletal muscle, glands and organs including your skin. Research has shown that the collagen in the skin is one of the first to be sacrificed when cortisol levels are high. Any hopes of tightening up that saggy skin, reducing cellulite and looking younger are all dependent on hydration and stress management. #managecortisol

In Season vs. Off Season

fed 24 post

An athlete’s diet in season and off season can vary just as much as the conditions of their sports vary from in season to off season. The athlete must be aware of their nutritional needs when changing environments, time zones, weather situations and any other stresses that could possibly increase demand in terms of nutritional reserve. By taking a holistic approach to sports performance, athletes will put themselves in the best position to maintain peak performance throughout the entire season and throughout their career.

The Holistic Significance Of A Pot Belly

AAMWE9

Let’s take the battle of the bulge to the next level. Holding extra weight in the mid-section has far reaching effects. It has been linked to heart disease, diabetes, back pain and more importantly it becomes a headache to find good shirts.

Liz Simpson explanation of the Chakra: “These spinning vortices of energy are a part of the subtle energy system which forms the ancient Indian approach to healing our physical, mental, emotional and spiritual selves”. Each chakra is connected to specific organs in the body.

Going deeper down the rabbit hole, there are also thoughts, emotions and behaviours associated with the chakras. The third chakra is located in the belly. The emotions and thought patterns associated with the third chakra are personal power and self will. These thoughts concern your personal initiative in ALL aspects of your life. Another aspect of personal power and self-will is your level of tolerance for things that are not in harmony with your beliefs. I once heard it called “tolerations” or in other words all that you “put up with”. With that said I must ask you, what are you tolerating in your life? Looking at your waist could give you the answer.

Sleep and biological Rhythms

Sofia_435_291
Sleep is absolutely vital to maintain normal biological rhythms, which can affect weight loss, pain management and even hormone levels. Optimal sleep times are between 10:30 pm to 6:30 am. From 10pm to 2am is when the body physically repairs itself while the window of 2am to 6am is when psychological repair occurs. The less time one has to sleep during these critical repair windows, the more stress will accumulate in the body. #sleeping #howtoeatmoveandbehealthy #sleeptoloseweight #sleeptogethealthy

How To Improve Your Appearance — INSTANTLY!

How To Improve Your Appearance — INSTANTLY!

 posture

How do you do that, you ask? The fastest way to improve the way you look, feel and perform is to improve your posture. It’s that simple. Simple but not easy and here’s why.

Posture is the position in which your body looks, functions and feels its best. When you are in ideal posture, all of your muscles are working in harmony with each other. When you have poor posture, your muscles work against each other.  In poor posture, one group of muscles will become short and tight while another set of muscles will become long and weak.  You develop what are known as length-tension dysfunction within the muscles.

Since muscles are extremely metabolically active. They play a major role in your ability to burn fat by boosting metabolism as they generate heat. Muscles act like mini engines of the body. When you are in ideal posture, you can increase your metabolism because all of your muscles are turned on and working in balance and unison and being used properly.

Improving posture can also boost energy levels. Think about it. What is the energetic cost of moving around in poor posture versus moving around with good posture?  You will use less energy when you have good posture and therefore use energy more efficiently and not waste it.

Cosmetically. the fastest way to get your butt lifted, your stomach flattened, your chin more contoured; all of these things happen when you focus on good posture. Many of the reasons people undergo surgery stems from having poor posture over a long period of time.  If you maintain a poor posture long enough, you create permanent changes in the structure of your body. Muscle and skin begin to sag and things start to hurt. The faster you achieve good posture, the quicker you’ll be able to get on your road to physical excellence.
